Everyone has a story.
I've always been the "anywhere but here" girl, but right now I'm just living in the moment.
This year (May 2017-2018) is about to be filled to the brim with change. I'm spending my summer living in three different cities (Athens, Houston, Washington D.C.) before I head back to Columbus, Ohio to pack a suitcase and move to Leipzig, Germany. I've been a student non-stop since 1999, and that reign is coming to a close as I finish one more semester of classes and my masters thesis.
I've worked on projects that have taken me quite literally around the globe. I have lived on two continents and set foot on five, all in the last four years.
As someone who makes a habit of over-scheduling her life, living in the moment doesn't always come easy. I feel most comfortable when I have plane tickets booked or a road trip to look forward to, when I have a goal in mind and a plan in place to make it happen.
I'm a lot of different things – a former gymnast, a video producer, an event planner, a social media coordinator, a daughter, a sister, a whirling dervish (or "Taz" as my thesis advisor calls me, aka Tasmanian Devil), and a mentor. My interests range from East German culture to classical music, from learning languages to spending days on end binge watching new shows on Netflix and not speaking to anyone, and from kayaking and hiking to eating extremely unhealthy amounts of sugar.
This blog will (if it goes according to plan) serve as a time capsule for my year. I'm challenging myself to try new things and to pick up old habits. The adventure *officially* begins on May 27, my 23rd birthday, but in reality, I've already been working on/organizing this for a while.
I'm a work in progress, and this site is too. Click on "The Project" (above, on the left) to figure out what crazy scheme I've got going next.
